On May 30, 2008 Protiva Biotherapeutics Inc. and Tekmira Pharmaceuticals Corporation combined their businesses to create a leading company in the field of RNA interference (RNAi) therapeutics. The new company, which will be called Tekmira and is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: TKM), brings together broad RNAi delivery technology and intellectual property, a deep product pipeline, significant pharmaceutical partners and is supported by a strong balance sheet.
